Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee showed Isidoro Sarmiento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Isidoro Sarmiento hit a great ball. Kaká Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético de Crisal. Cido Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 34th minute of play. Atlético de Crisal's Haroldo Capixaba quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jose Carita, made in the 41st minute of the game. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Berganza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cido Valle having to make a save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Atlético de Crisal's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Cido Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Romarinho Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético de Crisal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romarinho Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético de Crisal's goalkeeper Cido Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético de Crisal's Adelino Miranda was substituted for Kaká Ferreira. The supporters of Panama booed when Atlético de Crisal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Babbis Zabetas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Miranda in the 71st minute of the match. Atlético de Crisal's Cido Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 76th minute of play. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. 2-1 became the score in the 82nd minute when Tomas Berganza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Cido Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henrique dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Cido Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 93rd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Tomas Berganza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Panama had won after a very even match.
