An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 12th minute of play forced ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's goalkeeper Róbson Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbson Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of Panama booed when ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juarês Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abraham Alguacil, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Róbson Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 21st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleiton Leite during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Leite. Wesley Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Róbson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Duda Peixoto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. A collision led to ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Pedro Luís Rosado hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Soeiro came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Pedro Luís Rosado hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Tomas Berganza fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Róbson Arósio, passed just outside the right post. Gugu de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Róbson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Wesley Soeiro made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Abraham Alguacil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Róbson Arósio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Abraham Alguacil fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Many of Panama's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Panama may have spent more time on the ball, but ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
