Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eurico Aguiar kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Olympique Deleon's Rogério Pinho got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Olympique Deleon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olympique Deleon's goalkeeper Rogério Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 15 minutes Olympique Deleon's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rogério Pinho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rogério Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Ronaldão Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Deleon's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldão Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eurico Aguiar's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 25th minute, Eurico Aguiar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Johan Cruijff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Johan Cruijff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Johan Cruijff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the game, Benjamin Paraense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olympique Deleon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After a rather tough play, Olympique Deleon's Benjamin Paraense got a free kick in the 40th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eurico Aguiar in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The Venezuela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Olympique Deleon were winning 0-1.

In the 56th minute, Benjamin Paraense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rogério Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Paraense hit a great ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Olympique Deleon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Cruijff didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Venezuela lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
