The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Mario Pueblo in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mario Pueblo was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Maximiliano Escribano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maximiliano Escribano really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. With a little luck, Metapalo FC's Mario Pueblo got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 33 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. Mario Pueblo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 36th minute of play. Metapalo FC's Mario Pueblo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Metapalo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute, Alberto Gisbert made a precise shot to the right of Mario Pueblo. Metapalo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 42nd minute, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. 47 minutes into the match, Maximiliano Escribano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Pueblo. Metapalo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximiliano Escribano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Metapalo FC's Mario Pueblo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 54th minute of play forced Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Mario Pueblo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Metapalo FC's Mario Pueblo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 56th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 74th minute of play forced Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Mario Pueblo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Leonides Ledesma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 86th minute of play forced Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Mario Pueblo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mario Pueblo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 87th minute of the match. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mario Pueblo. Mario Pueblo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. In the 91st minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Pueblo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Pueblo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Beldad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Pueblo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Maximiliano Escribano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mario Pueblo was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. There was no doubt that Uruguay were the better team. Uruguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
