Isidoro Sarmiento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patricio Fillol having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 11th minute of play forced Feyli Ragazzi's goalkeeper Patricio Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Fillol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Davide Cerasoli. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Berganza during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomas Berganza hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Arrigo Antonini took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Marcos Cotilla to make any attempt to save it.

Patricio Fillol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 52nd minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Panama's Abraham Alguacil broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Patricio Fillol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ermanno Zoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermanno Zoff ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Zoff in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Tomas Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Ros hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Feyli Ragazzi's Patricio Fillol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 78th minute of play. Feyli Ragazzi's Patricio Fillol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Feyli Ragazzi from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Tomas Berganza made a precise shot to the right of Patricio Fillol. Feyli Ragazzi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Patricio Fillol. The goal made the score 1-2. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 94th minute.
