When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, 重庆1997联队's Gao Xi Hai got a free kick in the 4th minute. 重庆1997联队's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Qiu Yao Cheng in the 24th minute. The corner ended in Qiu Yao Cheng almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Pang Bang Xun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daan Leers's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daan Leers in the 44th minute of the match. 重庆1997联队 were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Qiu Yao Cheng took the corner. After the first half 重庆1997联队 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pang Bang Xun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. 重庆1997联队's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. Daan Leers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daan Leers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 60 minutes into the match, 重庆1997联队's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Pang Bang Xun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Pang Bang Xun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 龚适亦 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play forced 重庆1997联队's goalkeeper Pang Bang Xun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pang Bang Xun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, 重庆1997联队's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Pang Bang Xun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pang Bang Xun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Pang Bang Xun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pang Bang Xun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 80th minute of play. 龚适亦's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 龚适亦 helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, 重庆1997联队 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 龚适亦 to maneuver through the defense. Pang Bang Xun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 83rd minute of play. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Pang Bang Xun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 重庆1997联队's Pang Bang Xun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 90th minute of play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daan Leers went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.
