Joel Caton came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Caton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Cambeiro in the 11th minute of play. Joel Caton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Caton having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Victor Peres lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Marcos Cotilla. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Felix Pascua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. If Alonzo Gipils had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Loja S.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 38th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Joel Caton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres, in the 41st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Loja S.C.. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Felix Pascua made the kick off in the second half. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Vedeja in the 52nd minute of play. Loja S.C.'s Luis-Antonio Barraza was substituted for Felix Pascua. With splendid footwork Tomas Berganza arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-1 by the left pole in the game's 61st minute. Luis-Antonio Barraza kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When Fabricio Vedeja fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After taking down the ball on Panama's corner Miguel Miralles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joel Caton quite easily take care of the ball. 85 minutes in the game, Isidoro Sarmiento fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Joel Caton having to interfere. In the 86th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. Victor Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Peres in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Loja S.C. getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Luis-Antonio Barraza hit a great ball. The Panama players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
