Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Axel Tasis made the kick off which started today's match. If Arrigo Antonini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Axel Tasis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Patricio Fillol when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Ermanno Zoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Ermanno Zoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arrigo Antonini, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arrigo Antonini in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Feyli Ragazzi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Cristante didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience cheered loudly when Axel Tasis's long shot in the 16th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Patricio Fillol. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Patricio Fillol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Zoff in the 26th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Feyli Ragazzi's Arrigo Antonini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 35th minute, Arrigo Antonini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermanno Zoff in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Arrigo Antonini kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th minute Ermanno Zoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After 51 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Attilio Colagrossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Ermanno Zoff took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Ermanno Zoff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Adriano Fontana hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Feyli Ragazzi made a substitution. Angelo Marziali replaced Ermanno Zoff. After 67 played minutes Feyli Ragazzi got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Fontana. 69 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Marziali. If Angelo Marziali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Arrigo Antonini dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 1-3. The throw-in from Juan Rubio in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Feyli Ragazzi's Adriano Fontana. Arrigo Antonini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arrigo Antonini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Feyli Ragazzi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
