Match Report

Estádio Veneciano
Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0)
The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Natã Quintal got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 3rd minute of play forced Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Robinho de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natã Quintal might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Natã Quintal ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Nova Venécia-ES booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Nova Venécia-ES's Luís Gustavo Botelho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonel Paranaense. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Natã Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robinho de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 35th minute of the match. Gonsalve Alabern made in the 37th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Valdo Diniz immediately put the ball in play. Robinho de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Nova Venécia-ES fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Nova Venécia-ES's Natã Quintal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Natã Quintal went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Luís Gustavo Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Natã Quintal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robinho de Salles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Natã Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dino Tavares took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natã Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robinho de Salles. That made the score 5-1 after 78 minutes of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Quintal in the 82nd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robinho de Salles could save by the left post. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Nova Venécia-ES fully deserved thier win.
