Feyli Ragazzi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. A collision led to Feyli Ragazzi getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Amerigo De Bartolo hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patricio Fillol was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Feyli Ragazzi getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ciccio Cangiano hit a great ball. Jacobo Nores made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermanno Zoff in the 32nd minute. Ermanno Zoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Ermanno Zoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 played minutes Ermanno Zoff rounded Paraguay's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Xavier Zoido got a free kick in the 44th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ermanno Zoff. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ciccio Cangiano kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Zoff came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermanno Zoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Amerigo De Bartolo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. Amerigo De Bartolo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Feyli Ragazzi's Davide Cerasoli got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Jaime Pardo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Arrigo Antonini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arrigo Antonini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Marziali in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Feyli Ragazzi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Cerasoli to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the game, Angelo Marziali cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jacobo Nores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Angelo Marziali's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Many of Paraguay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Paraguay may have spent more time on the ball, but Feyli Ragazzi were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
