When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Felix Pascua put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lautaro Navarro. In the 35th minute Justavino Centeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 37 in the game by Edmundo Espiga from a close distance when the talented Joel Caton managed to make a qualified save. Loja S.C.'s players were relieved. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Vedeja in the 41st minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Milagros Cabal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Reasco Landeros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Reasco Landeros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute of the match, Felix Pascua tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lautaro Navarro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
