GALACTICOS's attentive Alfredo Palos managed to snatch the ball when Antonio Indiano made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Axel Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Esteban Dreer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 34 minutes into the match, GALACTICOS's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Esteban Dreer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteban Dreer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santino Seco's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Santino Seco put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Esteban Dreer. Alessandro Nesta kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Colombia's Axel Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteban Dreer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in GALACTICOS's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban Dreer came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GALACTICOS's Esteban Dreer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Colombia's Axel Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esteban Dreer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of GALACTICOS booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 69 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Indiano. 70 minutes into the game, GALACTICOS's Noel Hägele nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Dreer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noel Hägele's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Hägele helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th match minute, GALACTICOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Hägele to maneuver through the defense. Noel Hägele struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALACTICOS. Esteban Dreer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Secada, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Esteban Dreer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Mastache in the 95th minute of play. The GALACTICOS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GALACTICOS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
