The audience thought a goal was coming when Octaaf Bosmans got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddy Laporte's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Laporte came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of KFC Vliegplein booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the game, KFC Vliegplein's Eddy Laporte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half.
