Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Pascual Lamberto started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Pascual Lamberto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 7 played minutes C. S. Peron y Belgrano got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Milito. In the 8th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Lamberto got free with Julio Vera in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Pascual Lamberto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Araújo having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Araújo. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 42nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play forced C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Pascual Lamberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Pascual Lamberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Araújo having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Waldir Araújo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Lamberto in the 67th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Waldir Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Waldir Araújo firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to C. S. Peron y Belgrano getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alejandro Frascuelo hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Waldir Araújo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Araújo. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldir Araújo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute, Pascual Lamberto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than C. S. Peron y Belgrano and deserved their victory. The C. S. Peron y Belgrano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
