Kostas Kourmouzis came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Escribano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kostas Fasoulis in the 19th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kostas Fasoulis in the 22nd minute of the match. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the game, Xarilaou FC's Thodoris Loubakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 33rd minute, one of Uruguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uruguay. Theofanis Tsatsaronakis hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Theofanis Tsatsaronakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xarilaou FC's Fotis Mitsis was substituted for Themis Efthimidis. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Kostas Fasoulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Thodoris Loubakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Kostas Fasoulis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kostas Fasoulis really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Xarilaou FC's Thodoris Loubakis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 71st minute, Maximiliano Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kostas Fasoulis was extremely unlucky when he, in the 73rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Xarilaou FC made a substitution. Stratos Kabantais replaced Kostas Fasoulis. 82 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Kostas Kourmouzis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thodoris Loubakis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joaquin Gayoso came out and tried to block the shot, but Thodoris Loubakis slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 85th minute. After 92 minutes, Thodoris Loubakis made it 1-8 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thodoris Loubakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 98 minutes, Thodoris Loubakis put it in 1-9 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso.
