Rigoberto Leoncio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Elequemedo came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F.'s Rigoberto Leoncio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F. from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rigoberto Leoncio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rigoberto Leoncio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rigoberto Leoncio. Rigoberto Leoncio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rigoberto Leoncio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Rigoberto Leoncio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F.'s Aldo Ticho got a free kick in the 51st minute. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Leoncio having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Leoncio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lautaro Mancebo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rigoberto Leoncio saved LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F. from getting behind. In the 90th match minute, LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walery Niedziela to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Leoncio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that LOS CAVERNÍCOLAS S.F.'s Rigoberto Leoncio managed to reach the ball for a save. Mexico's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
