Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Octavio Senio took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. Club Sportivo Italiano's Rafael Martino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Italiano from getting a goal against them. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Martino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of Club Sportivo Italiano booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rafael Martino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Rafael Martino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Camilo Covarrubias fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Camilo Covarrubias a yellow card for diving instead. 35 minutes into the game, one of Uruguay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Joaquin Gayoso had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Rafael Lidon's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 37 minutes of play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Rafael Lidon made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 42 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Uruguay manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Club Sportivo Italiano to win.
