Club Sportivo Italiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 12 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Rafael Martino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Sportivo Italiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Luis Andino got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 3-0. 14 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Rafael Martino made a huge save. 20 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rafael Martino. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Martino saved Club Sportivo Italiano from getting behind. 35 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rafael Martino. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. Club Sportivo Italiano's Rafael Martino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Italiano from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 41st minute shot 6-0 at rihgt post. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sportivo Italiano's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Martino came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Martino was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 7-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Octavio Senio made a kick off. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Felix Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Rafael Martino. Club Sportivo Italiano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Rafael Martino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafael Martino. Rafael Martino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. Club Sportivo Italiano made a substitution. Fermin Torres replaced Octavio Senio. The audience was convinced that Felix Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael Martino was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Martino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rafael Martino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeo Oxel kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Martino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafael Martino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute of the match. Rafael Martino came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita scored 12-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rafael Martino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
