An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 8th minute of play forced Barcelona de América's goalkeeper Gilmar Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perlaza Lena struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barcelona de América. Gilmar Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 11th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luz Tejedor in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Quadros saved Barcelona de América from getting behind. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Gentenaar in the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Barcelona de América's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 32nd minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Barcelona de América's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Gilmar Quadros despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Hugo Sitnieks in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 38 minutes into the match, Barcelona de América's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Gilmar Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Sitnieks made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Barcelona de América got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Gentenaar. 57 minutes into the match, Barcelona de América's goalkeeper Gilmar Quadros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. In the 60th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Barcelona de América's Gilmar Quadros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Barcelona de América from getting a goal against them. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Barcelona de América were victorious despite being under pressure from Peru for much of the match.
