In the 9th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Angelo Prior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 17th minute of the match. Christoffer Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 22 minutes of play, Peru's Eliseo Mina made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Prior was left in no man's land by his defense there! Baladi Ribalta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. In the 33rdth minute of the game Christoffer Blomqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by MILLONARIOS FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoffer Blomqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christoffer Blomqvist in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonso Berganza in the 60th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Christoffer Blomqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. MILLONARIOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christoffer Blomqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Angelo Prior made a huge save. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 75th minute of play. MILLONARIOS FC's Roberto Quicedo was substituted for Svenn Matzke. Peru were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after MILLONARIOS FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Peru's Eliseo Mina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Angelo Prior in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. With a little luck, MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Angelo Prior, 0-4. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baladi Ribalta in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes MILLONARIOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Cantera. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Prior read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
