The corner led ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Cristian Paraense to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Sune Rudberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Sune Rudberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Marcell Pécsi in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vito Amorim. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sune Rudberg having to interfere. Valeh Cerda hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Daniel Zorita in the 49th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sune Rudberg's left hand side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Felix Montenegro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcell Pécsi's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Sune Rudberg in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game was made by Camilo Gisbert with Luis Andino as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. With a little luck, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Sune Rudberg got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sune Rudberg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Marcell Pécsi hit a great ball. Benito Laurin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute Marcell Pécsi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sune Rudberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. When Marcell Pécsi came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcell Pécsi couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Sune Rudberg got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
