Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Waldir Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 14th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alejandro Frascuelo during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th match minute, C. S. Peron y Belgrano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Frascuelo to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when C. S. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Waldir Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldir Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 38th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's Korneliusz Mruk got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute, Javier Quin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 47 played minutes C. S. Peron y Belgrano got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Milito. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Waldir Araújo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. C. S. In the 63rd minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Waldir Araújo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 65 minutes into the match, C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 75th minute of play forced C. S. Peron y Belgrano's goalkeeper Waldir Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Quin kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Waldir Araújo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Waldir Araújo made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waldir Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico played a much better game than C. S. Peron y Belgrano and deserved their victory. The C. S. Peron y Belgrano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
