In the 12th minute, Edmundo Espiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 15 minutes, Raúl Lombera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loja S.C. and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raúl Lombera kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chucho Muñoa having to make a save. A throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game was made by Julian Santisteban with German Masdeu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 34th minute, Raúl Lombera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Texeira Noceda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chucho Muñoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 38th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Edmundo Espiga made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Milagros Cabal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Sebastian Villa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Muñoa. Loja S.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sebastian Villa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Moises Tafalla hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chucho Muñoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chucho Muñoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 79th minute of the match. Chucho Muñoa had in the 81stth minute some difficulties stopping Edmundo Espiga's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 81 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chucho Muñoa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, Moises Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Muñoa. Loja S.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 90th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Chucho Muñoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Chucho Muñoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Honduras fully deserved thier win.
