Miodrag Belo hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. With a little luck, CAI NEUQUEN's Ermegildo Horado got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Pasqual, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermegildo Horado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cipriano Pasqual had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cipriano Pasqual was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 23 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Raul Heriberto who took care of the corner kick. 25 minutes into the match, CAI NEUQUEN's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ermegildo Horado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee-Paul Ramon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Cipriano Pasqual notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, CAI NEUQUEN's Anacleto Unax got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 45 played minutes CAI NEUQUEN got a freekick which was hit by Dalmacio Rufio. Luz Tejedor didn't quite understand what happened when in the 47 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cipriano Pasqual to make the kick off. CAI NEUQUEN's Ermegildo Horado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of CAI NEUQUEN booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonso Berganza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anacleto Unax in the 61 minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermegildo Horado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cipriano Pasqual's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, CAI NEUQUEN's Cipriano Pasqual sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Efraim Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Raul Heriberto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Pasqual sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. A sloppy throw-in by Anacleto Unax in the 85th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Efraim Gilabert. 91 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cipriano Pasqual. Ermegildo Horado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 93rd minute of the match. Although Peru had been in control for most of the match, CAI NEUQUEN still came away with the win.
