The audience thought a goal was coming when Zayvion Ispuzua got free with Rolando Noboa in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 6 minutes in the game Emmanuel Reyes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Milagros Fraga. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Calisto Cean in the 23 minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilmar Quadros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute, Calisto Cean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilmar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar Quadros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 48th match minute, Barcelona de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calisto Cean to maneuver through the defense. The Barcelona de América players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-2.

Luz Tejedor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Levandowsky in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Levandowsky came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilmar Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Caetano Levandowsky kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, Barcelona de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Levandowsky to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Barcelona de América's goalkeeper Gilmar Quadros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Gilmar Quadros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 84th minute. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Alonso Berganza hit a great ball. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. After 88 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Berganza. Antonio Tenorio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gilmar Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Peru's Rafael Gallo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilmar Quadros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3.
