Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 0-1 became the score in the 4th minute when Sandro Moraes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Moraes came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Perez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matías Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brunogenio. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Moraes in the 19th minute of play. Sandro Moraes's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Brunogenio got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Moraes. Abelardo Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brunogenio's Abelardo Dionísio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Brunogenio from getting a goal against them. When Cristiano Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Brunogenio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Rosado couldn't finish the play. With 29 minutes on the clock, Rigoberto Mina commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Brunogenio a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristiano Rosado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 0-3. If Teodoro Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Edu Freitas in the 36th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jose Correa. In the 40th minute Cristiano Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Moraes in the 43rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Rosado in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brunogenio the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Edu Freitas in the 61st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. In the 71st minute, Romário de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Brunogenio booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 82nd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Sandro Moraes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Sandro Moraes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 87th minute. Brunogenio's Teodoro Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The Venezuela supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brunogenio's performance. The match ended with a win for Brunogenio.
