Ignác Selymes charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignác Selymes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. János Holzhauser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Bálint Hellinger. FC Budapest's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bálint Hellinger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bálint Hellinger. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bálint Hellinger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in FC Budapest's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bálint Hellinger came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The wind increased when Miklós Fehér made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Botond Kutasi in the 52nd minute of play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Miklós Fehér came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Budapest booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miklós Fehér sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. In the 99th minute of the match Félix Kis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
