The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Hernandez in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 61 minutes into the game, Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Luís Hernandez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Ciro Ostadar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Luís Hernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 80 minutes Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Atletas Campesinos F.C. had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
