ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tuan Eubanks in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Jose Bermudez from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Jonathan Ferrant's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ACC Mavericks the free kick. The supporters of ACC Mavericks booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball.
