In the 7th minute, Cassius Byrne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Candido Hendrickx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Candido Hendrickx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 13 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Hendrickx came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Hendrickx's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 26th minute of play forced Pilar FC's goalkeeper Sixto Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Diego Bradley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. USA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pilar FC the free kick. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Hendrickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The wind increased when Candido Hendrickx made the kick off in the second half. Hugo Villaverde hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Pilar FC's Aukusti Malinen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jenson Smith, made in the 61st minute of the game. Sixto Luke made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Jacob May sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Sixto Luke in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute, Cassius Byrne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sixto Luke. The goal made the score 2-2. In the 90th minute, Khalid Parry ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sixto Luke was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. In the 95th minute Guus Koole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. USA played a much better game than Pilar FC and deserved their victory. The Pilar FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
