Frits Heinel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play. Cain Vieri struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra14. Cain Vieri in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Frits Heinel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frits Heinel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Fioriti during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 27 played minutes Palestra14 got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Fioriti. Julio Vera was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Fausto Fioriti capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fausto Fioriti really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 37th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frits Heinel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frits Heinel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 47th minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Fioriti, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Dennis Del Vecchio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Palestra14 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinnie Jones didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Palestra14's goalkeeper Frits Heinel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra14's zone, Felix Montes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frits Heinel came out of the goal and Felix Montes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Palestra14's Frits Heinel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Palestra14 from getting a goal against them. Ecuador played a much better game than Palestra14 and deserved their victory. The Palestra14 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
