Lima Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herberto Caiado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herberto Caiado in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Lima Team's Herberto Caiado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jacob Barroso took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Francisco Infante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacob Barroso got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herberto Caiado was slow to take the kick. During this time Lima Team's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Lima Team's corner Herberto Caiado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. With an all-out effort, Lima Team's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Herberto Caiado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lima Team were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herberto Caiado took the corner. Jacob Barroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After 30 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herberto Caiado went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. If Herberto Caiado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Francisco Infante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 40th minute. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After 47 played minutes, Lima Team's Raimundo Cerqueira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lima Team reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Herberto Caiado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Lima Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Sobral didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lima Team's Herberto Caiado in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Francisco Infante. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-1.
