Ward Candido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ward Candido having to make a save. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Ward Candido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 13 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ward Candido was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, ACC Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ward Candido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ward Candido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Calvin Masters hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After 27 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ward Candido came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Jesse Perdue kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ACC Mavericks's Dean Gant got a free kick in the 55th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Seth Stroh hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ward Candido, 1-4. Daniel Zorita scored 1-5 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ward Candido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 67 played minutes Cristian Sancho rounded ACC Mavericks's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-6. Ward Candido made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 71st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. ACC Mavericks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 73 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ward Candido was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ward Candido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ward Candido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ward Candido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ward Candido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark McGrath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The ACC Mavericks fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
