Palestra14's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. A collision led to Palestra14 getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Attilio Torelli hit a great ball. Frits Heinel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Attilio Torelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Fausto Fioriti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Cain Vieri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Cain Vieri put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After a rather tough play, Palestra14's Fausto Fioriti got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Fausto Fioriti scored 3-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fausto Fioriti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Cain Vieri tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cain Vieri in the 62nd minute of play. Attilio Penna's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attilio Penna helped the player get up and apologised. Attilio Penna made in the 66th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Attilio Torelli however managed to control. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra14's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frits Heinel came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When Attilio Torelli came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Palestra14 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Attilio Torelli couldn't finish the play. Palestra14 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
