After 8 minutes of play, Ballet Azul's Eulalio Callejas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! 12 minutes into the match, Ballet Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but José Luis Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eulalio Callejas came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Ballet Azul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Callejas couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ballet Azul getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Nahuel Cunningham hit a great ball. Axel Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Luis Chilavert could save by the left post. Ballet Azul were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waclaw Dombrowski took the corner. The corner led Ballet Azul's Nahuel Cunningham to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Eulalio Callejas came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Nahuel Cunningham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but José Luis Chilavert made a huge save. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Montenegro in the 36th minute. Eulalio Callejas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. With a little luck, Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waclaw Dombrowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd match minute, Ballet Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waclaw Dombrowski to maneuver through the defense. In the 45thth minute of the game Axel Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Montenegro in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Luis Chilavert saved Ballet Azul from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Montenegro in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Luis Chilavert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Luis Chilavert having to make a save. José Luis Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ballet Azul's José Luis Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 60th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Eladio Ulloa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eladio Ulloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 77th minute of play forced Ballet Azul's goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Luis Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 79th minute of the match. 79 minutes in the game, Abram Sarmiento dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Ballet Azul's Odín Enríquez was substituted for Eulalio Callejas. Kevin Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. José Luis Chilavert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Secada in the 84th minute of play forced Ballet Azul's goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eladio Ulloa in the 86th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eladio Ulloa, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Nahuel Cunningham kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Abram Secada took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Luis Chilavert. José Luis Chilavert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odín Enríquez in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ballet Azul eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
