An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Ler in the 20th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Ler came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. Cardiff City FC made a substitution. Augusto Santio replaced Primitivo Ciano. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Julian Efraim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 37th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Julian Efraim's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Julian Efraim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Julian Efraim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Xencio Millan made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Efraim in the 57th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Xencio Millan in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The throw-in from Alex Chicote in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cardiff City FC's M. Andik Faturrahman. 86 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Walme came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Walme in the 93rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celso Walme's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cardiff City FC had played much better football throughout.
