Duarte Couto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Puig went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duarte Couto. Duarte Couto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Axel Tasis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Duarte Couto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 30 minutes in the game Efrain Moruga did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eliseo Noboa. Alvi Verde were furious when Jânio Maia was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Alvi Verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jânio Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvi Verde's Duarte Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Alvi Verde from getting a goal against them. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 35th minute. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Duarte Couto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lautaro Puig made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Alvi Verde's Murilo Stein. Axel Tasis in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duarte Couto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Efrain Moruga made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Alvi Verde's Manoel Berger. 47 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Alvi Verde's Manoel Berger quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Germano do Vale to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Alvi Verde! In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Costa Rica. Axel Tasis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Couto. 3-0. The throw-in from Abel Carballo in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Alvi Verde's Manoel Berger. 64 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Alvi Verde's Duarte Couto. Duarte Couto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 70 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duarte Couto. Alvi Verde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Puig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Murilo Stein kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Alvi Verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Duarte Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 88th minute, Axel Tasis made a precise shot to the right of Duarte Couto. Alvi Verde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. Germano do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Duarte Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 97th minute of the match. Costa Rica's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
