Eulalio Francesco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Stacey Banning's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the game, Stacey Banning recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Stacey Banning showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 20 minutes, Mihran Sarkisyan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River tu grato nombre and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of River tu grato nombre booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball.
