When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Flavio Cifuentes took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 37th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Roldan Castellanos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Obregón Pardemanos in the 44th minute of play. Zhang Hao Qing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas scored 5-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zhang Hao Qing, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Taltum FC made a substitution. Espinosa Marco replaced Marcelo Cavenaghi. After 68 minutes Taltum FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. In the 82nd minute Norbert Dabrowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Obregón Pardemanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute, Flavio Cifuentes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Taltum FC had played much better football throughout.
