The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the match, Almir Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Almir Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 17th minute Cuero Buseth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wilbert Ugalde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, William Kristiansson made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 27 minutes into the match, Alvi Verde's Cuero Buseth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan Diego Tenorio's late challenge caught a Alvi Verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Diego Tenorio helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Juan Diego Tenorio. In the 58th minute, Giovanni Hermes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvi Verde were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Paraguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilbert Ugalde took the corner. A nice corner shot did that William Kristiansson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jacobo Nores quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alvi Verde eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
