Match Report

Una Cienaga
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0)
La Cienaga's Dario Benedetto started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alonzo Botello got free with Thiago Pliego in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Cienaga's goalkeeper Genaro Sindo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Radamel-Falcao García blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play forced La Cienaga's goalkeeper Genaro Sindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genaro Sindo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, La Cienaga's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Genaro Sindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dario Benedetto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. La Cienaga's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jacinto Mincho in the 22nd minute. A collision led to La Cienaga getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Milad Rouhi hit a great ball. Radamel-Falcao García could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. In the 27th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Genaro Sindo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Milan Skriniar hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Chile's Mariano Lacasa took a good shot, in the 31st minute, which hit the crossbar above Genaro Sindo's head, and flew over the goal. La Cienaga's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Chile. Vinny Turell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. In the 35th minute Alonzo Botello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Genaro Sindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 44th minute of the match.

Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Sindo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Genaro Sindo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, La Cienaga's Genaro Sindo got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genaro Sindo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Genaro Sindo made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Benedetto in the 67th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Radamel-Falcao García notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Sindo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Cienaga's goalkeeper Genaro Sindo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. La Cienaga's Genaro Sindo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save La Cienaga from getting a goal against them. Mariano Lacasas short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Genaro Sindo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 83 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Genaro Sindo. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alonzo Botello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 minutes of play, La Cienaga's Radamel-Falcao García made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Genaro Sindo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 97th minute of the match Chile got a corner. La Cienaga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Chile players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
