After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Daniel Ţîrlea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Daniel Ţîrlea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to The Huns getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Andre Huyterhoeven hit a great ball. Cassius Byrne came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vintilă Murgu could save by the left post. In the 23rd minute of the match, Cassius Byrne got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vintilă Murgu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Ţîrlea, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Ţîrlea in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Ţîrlea in the 35th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vintilă Murgu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 40th minute. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Ţîrlea, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronan McCunn in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of The Huns booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Brown didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute Sam Campbell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Murgu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vintilă Murgu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Ţîrlea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Campbell in the 85th minute of play forced The Huns's goalkeeper Vintilă Murgu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vintilă Murgu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes The Huns got a freekick which was hit by George Ghionea. In the 94th minute Khalid Parry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Murgu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Khalid Parry took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vintilă Murgu. Vintilă Murgu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0.
