In the 35th minute Karol Sitko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Sakowicz in the 44th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The tension between the El Salvador and the Boreham Wood FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wlodzimierz Kilarski having to interfere.
