After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Marian Tobaczewski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bird FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marian Tobaczewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Mario in the 25th minute of play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Taqi Taqi to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Sten Thedin in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 played minutes Bird FC got a freekick which was hit by Pankracy Naskrent. After 59 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sten Thedin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bird FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of Bird FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Sten Thedin had in the 63rdth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Sten Thedin made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Bird FC made a substitution. Matthias Smed replaced Nathan Preca. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Thedin having to interfere. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Bird FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
