Julio Vera was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Albano Henric capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Albano Henric really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 41 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Salvino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wen Qing Bo might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
