In the 16th minute Abdulkerim Türköne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignacio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 31st minute of play. Ignacio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪'s goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Ignacio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harald Ingemarsson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald Ingemarsson in the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Luca Zorita had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 50 minutes, Keramettin Ekici mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keramettin Ekici to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪'s zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignacio Vera came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 83rd minute of play forced ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪'s goalkeeper Ignacio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamodi Hamid took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The ☪ Ay-Yıldız ☪ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
