XMAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Espiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 12th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 14 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Concetto Garibaldi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Concetto Garibaldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Concetto Garibaldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th match minute, XMAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Vettori to maneuver through the defense. XMAS's Concetto Garibaldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Concetto Garibaldi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 32 minutes into the match, Ennio De Nardis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lautaro Navarro, 1-4. XMAS's Concetto Garibaldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Edmundo Espiga hit a great ball. Domenico Mantini's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domenico Mantini helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Domenico Mantini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moises Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Concetto Garibaldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Concetto Garibaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Concetto Garibaldi came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ferruccio Cesaroni, made in the 73rd minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Concetto Garibaldi was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Christian Zaccardi's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. One of XMAS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Honduras:s goal. Moises Tafalla scored 1-6 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Concetto Garibaldi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honduras's attentive Esteban Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Comunardo Quadrini made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. With a little luck, XMAS's Concetto Garibaldi got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, XMAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugenio Casiraghi to maneuver through the defense. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Concetto Garibaldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
