Loja S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. After a rather tough play, Loja S.C.'s Rodas Lamadrid got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Lombera in the 6th minute of play. If Alberto Gisbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armando Aelle's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Aelle helped the player get up and apologised. Armando Aelle hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Chucho Muñoa was a little too slow when Maximiliano Escribano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. A hard shot 21 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Chucho Muñoa managed to make a qualified save. Loja S.C.'s players were relieved. If Camilo Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chucho Muñoa was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Maximiliano Escribano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maximiliano Escribano really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 33rd minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Chucho Muñoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Loja S.C.'s Chucho Muñoa got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chucho Muñoa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Chucho Muñoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Rodas Lamadrid made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes in the game Julian Santisteban did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rodas Lamadrid. Uruguay's Bruno Beldad quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Julian Santisteban, made in the 54th minute of the game. Chucho Muñoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raúl Lombera helped the player get up and apologised. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Francisco Seco fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Francisco Seco a yellow card for diving instead. After 62 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Seco. Loja S.C.'s Chucho Muñoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 65th minute of play. Chucho Muñoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Chucho Muñoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 68th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Texeira Noceda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 3-1 in the 70 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Loja S.C.'s Chucho Muñoa. Chucho Muñoa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Loja S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Berastegui didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Gisbert in the 87th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Chucho Muñoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chucho Muñoa having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Maximiliano Escribano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chucho Muñoa. Loja S.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximiliano Escribano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Uruguay fully deserved thier win.
