Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. If Bray McJon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Maranhense hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bray McJon in the 12th minute of the match. After 14 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilson Fernandez who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Montevideo's corner Wilson Fernandez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 16th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldo Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute Christian Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Wilson Fernandez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 26th minute, Montevideo's Bray McJon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Ronaldo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Luisito Antequera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ronaldo Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bray McJon, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Fernandão Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Luisito Antequera made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. Olavo Matorin hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Luisito Antequera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Antequera in the 68th minute of play. In the 79th minute Montevideo were awarded a corner. Wilson Fernandez went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisito Antequera in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Medeiros made a huge save. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Montevideo succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
