In the 14th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlitos Parodi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Acratas Unidos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Enrique Theobald hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Acratas Unidos's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlitos Parodi came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Acratas Unidos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthias Vall in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Matthias Vall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matthias Vall showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 26 minute of play. Acratas Unidos's Carlitos Parodi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. Carlitos Parodi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Margus Paukson in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 91st minute. Acratas Unidos made a substitution. Ramiro Niva replaced Enrique Theobald. The supporters of Acratas Unidos booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball.
